Do you prescribe medication?
No, we do not provide medication management services. If you believe you need medication management services please contact your primary medical provider.
Who are you guys?
We tried to answer that on the “About Us” page. But to sum up, we are two friends, trained as counselors, desiring to use our skills to serve the Central Oregon community.
How long is a typical session?
A typical session lasts 50 to 55 minutes.
What exactly is going to happen in counseling?
Our counseling sessions vary by counselor, but the basic description of what we do is “talk therapy.” Meaning the counseling process includes you (the client) talking with one of us (the counselor). There is a difference however between a regular session and the initial intake.
What happens during the initial intake?
The most important part of counseling is not the technique used, but the relationship between counselor and client. The goal of the intake is for us as counselors to learn more about your needs in counseling and whether we are a good fit for providing those services. If we believe we can offer the services you need we will provide you with an outline of what you can expect from the counseling process. If we feel you would be better suited working with another counselor in the area we will seek to provide you with the appropriate referral.
The intake is also your opportunity to decide if you feel we are a good fit for you. We encourage you to take the time to ask us any questions you may have in order to help you in this decision.
What should I bring to the intake?
Generally you will want to bring picture ID and insurance information (including insurance card if available). You will be informed by us prior to your session if there is any further documentation you should bring.
Are you licensed?
Currently, both Mickey Becker and Michael Coe are registered with the State of Oregon as Licensed Professional Counselors.
